11 Ways to Support Yourself During the Strike

By: Gabriela Lopez

1. Update your Headshots

We have a discounted headshot day + an additional 20% off for glö members.

Only THREE slots left for June 14th!

Please email Rachel at info@gloactingstudio.com to reserve your spot and complete this form to book a time.

2. Update your Demo Reel

We are actually about to announce a REALLY cool opportunity that I will participating in as well - we are hiring some industry professionals with their 100k+ worth of equipment who are wanting to shoot since they are currently not working due to the strike so definitely take advantage of this if you can!

Book a demo consult if you know you're interested (this is a free service, but please only book if you're wanting to invest. These reels will be more expensive than our current reel prices due to the high level of expertise/equipment).

Book here.

3. Update your IMDB

Take this time to set up your IMDB profile to fit your brand. Confused on your brand? Purchase a Brand Report.

4. Update your Casting Profiles

Make sure your Actors Access and Casting Networks profiles have your latest reel, clips, headshots and your resumes are updated in the correct format there.

5. Live Q+A's on Friday

I'm going live on IG every Friday so bring your questions on the live or submit via the question box that we post in our stories the day prior - your question could serve someone else too!

6. Private Coaching

At glö, we have several different coaches to choose from that can offer a different perspectives on what you’re learning in your craft or can help you get unstuck. This downtime is perfect to finesse your craft.

7. Get Clear on Your Brand

Seek out things you love and see where they all string together, get introspective about it. What makes up you and the ingredients of you IS your brand.

I offer brand reports if you're feeling lost on where to begin.

8. Take Digital Courses

If y'all know me, when I have downtime, my favorite thing to do is to study in one of my digital classes - yes I said one of. I'm currently in like 15, I'm not kidding. I  freaking love it. I can give y'all a list of some I've taken that I've found life changing and some not so much, so feel free to ask. I mostly take spiritual, feminine, money, business type courses but if you're looking for acting or filmmaking ones I recommend checking out the ones that we offer: https://www.gloactingstudio.com/shop/online-courses

9. Map Your Career

I'm about to release a Career Map Workbook you can do on your own, but I would definitely carve out time to get really clear on your goals and actionable steps you can take. If you want me to do your map for you: https://www.gloactingstudio.com/shop/p/personalized-career-map

10. Your Energetics

This is something I'm really focused on during this time because if you want to see real change in your life, internally and externally, work on your subconscious programming and your energetic body. EFT is a great tool that I implement for this. There are tons of free youtube videos with Gala Darling that I do EFT with, I'm in her online course :) I also have the Silver membership open which focuses solely on this and how to apply it to your acting career: https://www.gloactingstudio.com/memberships

11. Take Care of Your Mental Health

We just posted a blog my psychiatrist Dad wrote on our website- he lists several ways you can care for your mental health. I encourage you to find one thing from that list and do it daily. https://www.gloactingstudio.com/resources/mentalhealthforactors

If you need other resources such as a therapist or psychiatrist, I recommend searching on psychologytoday.com or through nami.org for more affordable resources.

So there you have it. Let us know how else glö can support you!
