Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Lopez.

Hi Gabriela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I have been a working actor since 2010 and have been teaching for over 6+ years. My passion for teaching comes from the many ups and downs I’ve faced on the path of being a working actress in Los Angeles, CA; having acting classes to come back to, and knowing I had a space and community to uplift me and support me along the way, is what continues to keep my career going.

I came up with the idea to start my own acting studio focusing on empowerment through the cultivation of mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. From there, I assembled a team of other working actors, who are among some of my closest friends and align with glö’s mission, to join the team.

The purpose of glö is to give people accessibility to actors who are currently working in the industry, something I felt gives a fresh and updated approach to what many current acting studios in LA offer. I see glö as a one-stop shop for actors to be red-carpet-ready. I’m incredibly grateful for the many lives glö has impacted and touched so far, and am beyond excited to serve many more creatives who are ready to catapult their dreams into reality.

glö not only provides acting classes, but we also have an esthetician on staff and offer full-service headshots, demo reels that we produce and write to fit your brand and make you shine, customized career map reports where I help map out unique steps month by month for you to take to end up at your desired goal, and customized branding reports to help you understand and utilize your individual brand more effectively.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

Short answer: no! But it has absolutely been worth it. I have faced, and continue to face, many struggles starting my own business (especially as a woman in today’s climate). I started glö during COVID, which was a challenge in and of itself, being that we mostly operated on Zoom. I also struggled to have people take me and my business seriously being an actor and woman starting from the ground up. The transition from moving offline to in-person post-pandemic presented extreme challenges as well, as many of my students were not based in LA. We are excited to continue growing and expanding our in-person services and can’t wait to see glö’s impact in the next few years.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

In addition to coaching, I am an actress as well as a writer, producer, and director. As a filmmaker, I like to create films with surrealistic elements that lean towards the horror/comedy genre and have themes of women empowerment. My first short film I wrote/directed ‘Weather Girl” is currently in the festival circuit and has won awards. I am known for various television/film roles – please refer to my IMDB for full disclosure on specific projects as per supporting the SAG strike. What sets me apart is my passion for actors to thrive in this business. I’m a visionary who wants to push the envelope into other’s psyches for them to explore their inner truths that may be otherwise scary to look at or face. I am most proud of my ability, through glö, to create a community and safe space for other actors to create, explore, and feel supported to fully be themselves.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?

As a little girl, I was always creating an imaginary world and living in it. Part of the reason I became an actress is because I still do that! I remember my mom, who has now passed, would tell me stories about how she would look out the window to find me talking to myself and my imaginary friends.”
